JVIS Celebrates Manufacturing Day in Macomb County

At JVIS, our culture is rooted in connecting and supporting our local community. 

That’s why we were honored to take part in Manufacturing Week in Macomb County, which ran Oct. 2-6. 

This annual celebration is not only vital for our industry, but it also provided a great opportunity for students across our home county to learn about high-tech manufacturing in automotive and other sectors, as well as career pathways and more.  

As part of the weeklong activities, JVIS hosted a special Manufacturing Day event on Friday, Oct. 6, at our headquarters in Shelby Township, where we opened our doors to welcome local high school students. More than 30 students from Utica Center for Science and Industry (CSI) joined us throughout the day to get a glimpse of our innovative products and technology, as well as the career opportunities in auto manufacturing at JVIS.   

Our JVIS pros walked students through the design process, including CMF (color, material, finish) selection, renderings, concept review in virtual reality (VR), as well as a preview of the prototyping process. The visiting high school students also got the chance to see up close how JVIS takes designs and brings them to life through engineering, validating and testing processes all the way through the assembly and application of our various products. 

Attracting the best talent is an important part of doing business, especially in the auto manufacturing industry, where the rapid rise of electric vehicles is transforming the way vehicles are made and forging new career paths for the skilled workers to build the cars of tomorrow. 

It’s an exciting time to be in the automotive industry, and the team at JVIS is grateful to all the Macomb County students who joined us for Manufacturing Day to see firsthand how they can get in on the ground floor and be a part of the automotive revolution.
