JVIS Welcomes Local Students for Manufacturing Week in Macomb County

Last week, JVIS welcomed high school students from the Computer Information Systems Program at Warren Consolidated Schools Career Prep Center for an inside look at modern manufacturing. This was our fourth year as a host site, and we love being part of Macomb County’s Manufacturing Week and connecting with students who are curious about the opportunities in today’s manufacturing world.

Manufacturing Week in Macomb County, held this year from September 28 to October 2, is part of the annual national Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) initiative. The event gives high school students the chance to visit a local company and learn about modern manufacturing, career opportunities, and the technologies behind the products of this continually evolving industry. Macomb County hosts more schools and has more host sites than any other county in the country, and we’re proud to be part of it. Its week-long celebration gives students ample opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world skills.

As a host site, JVIS welcomed students into our Shelby Township facilities for a closer look at our projects, testing lab, industrial design studio, and assembly operations. In the design studio, students saw how we use Virtual Reality (VR) in our processes. Our experts guided students through the entire design and production journey and shared the wide range of career paths available in manufacturing.

As the automotive industry evolves quickly, so do the career opportunities in manufacturing, making this an exciting time for students interested in the field. We’re grateful to the students from Warren Consolidated Schools for spending the day with us, and a shout-out to all the participating host sites and schools that take part in this initiative. We’re proud to inspire the next generation, help them envision their future careers, and look forward to continuing this initiative.
