Sterling Heights‑based Jvis USA LLC will supply its in‑vehicle wireless charging for consumer electronics to three Chrysler Group LLC models as part of the automaker’s Mopar division.
- The 2013 Dodge Dart will be the first vehicle to offer Jvis’ station. The two other vehicles have not been announced.
- The in‑vehicle charging station is capable of charging the iPhone, Android and Blackberry smartphones as well as some MP3 players.
- Jvis’ station charges the device when it comes into contact with the charger, which will be in the center stack area of the vehicle.
- A phone case is required and included in the $199.99 option.
Jvis employs more than 1,000 at its 18 locations in five countries. The interiors supplier has four Michigan locations: a warehouse in Shelby Township, a tool and die shop in Sterling Heights and plants in Clinton Township and Benton Harbor.
