Team JVIS Gives Back to Community
At JVIS, our culture is rooted in giving back to the community.
It’s something that is not only important to us as an organization, but a value shared across our team of hardworking, generous people who are passionate about contributing to the communities where they live and work.
For JVIS and our innovative professionals who discover, design and create products for our customers, it goes beyond monetary donations. It’s about committing time, labor and resources to causes and nonprofit organizations that will make an impact and improve the quality of life for others in their communities.
That’s why we encourage JVIS employees to participate in various outreach programs and take pride in being active members in the community. From supply drives and program sponsorships to charity auctions and more — we all work together to help make a difference.
In addition to our longtime support to organizations like Gleaners Food Bank and the American Cancer Society, here are a few initiatives JVIS employees participated in over the last year:
- JVIS employees at our HQ in Shelby Township and Benton Harbor engaged with Operation Good Cheer, a volunteer Christmas gift-giving program sponsored and coordinated by Child and Family Services of Michigan, to sponsor more than 50 children in foster care during the holiday season.
- We held a food drive for Vets Returning Home, a nonprofit and non-government funded organization dedicated to help our veterans transition into stable lives, which helped deliver 600 pounds of food to veterans in Michigan.
- Our team participated in a breast cancer awareness t-shirt drive and raised more than $1,200 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
In addition, JVIS employees participated in the Charity Preview gala at the Detroit Auto Show that raised more than $2 million for children’s charities in southeast Michigan. We were pleased to be a gold sponsor of A Night to Care, fundraising event benefiting Trinity Community Care and Hope Care and Beyond and their work to provide free health and social services to immigrant and refugee communities in Metro Detroit.
Our team also sponsored various high school athletic programs – including Lutheran Northwest in Rochester Hills, Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy in Brighton, St. Mary’s in Mount Clemens and more – as well as various golf outings such as the annual Patriot’s Day Golf Outing.
Looking forward, we are excited to build upon our community engagement and giving activities by donating to Turning Point — an incredible organization based in Mount Clemens that is a women and children’s shelter which helps survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
“Donating our time, resources and energy for a variety of causes is an important aspect of being a good neighbor and responsible company, and at JVIS we are fortunate to have such great employees who are committed to giving back to our communities,” said JVIS Director of Human Resources Jane Grewe. “That’s why we not only encourage people to take a role in philanthropy, but we also provide our employees with opportunities by building in community service hours they can use to work for organizations they are passionate about and take part in their volunteer and fundraising activities during the work week.”
This dedication and level of community involvement at JVIS demonstrates the good work of the great people who make up the JVIS team.
At JVIS, we believe community partnerships are not just about talking the talk. We’re proud of our employees’ community involvement because they are walking the JVIS walk. Together, across the globe, we are showing the world that WE ARE JVIS.
