JVIS Contributes to 2022 Award Winning Vehicles

The automotive industry is more than a century old, which means coming up with innovative, impressive ideas is something to celebrate. The start to a new year is exciting because it’s one of the times where the industry and car enthusiasts from around the world get to come together to appreciate the hard work auto manufacturers and suppliers put in to creating the next generation of revolutionary vehicles.
MotorTrend recently announced its Car and Truck of the Year, and we’re proud to have contributed components to both vehicles. JVIS has had content in hundreds of award-winning vehicles in our decades of experience, but we are especially excited about the way our team has helped auto manufacturers push designs to the next level with our custom components uniquely designed from idea to market.
The Lucid Air and Rivian R1T were named Car of the Year and Truck of the Year, respectively, and both are incredible examples of the state-of-the-art design we can expect from EVs and other vehicles moving forward.
Lucid Air
The Lucid Air is a luxury sedan with a sleek all-electric package. It is smooth, quiet and has impressive acceleration, reaching speeds of up to 217 mph. The car’s interior design is stylish and different than that of competitors. It features three screens that don’t overwhelm the cabin. Additionally, consumers can look forward to a stylish mix of leather, wood, Alcantara and metal covers, according to MotorTrend. Perhaps the most thrilling feature of the vehicle is the promise of offering autonomous and semi-autonomous driving technologies. The Air pricing begins around $77,400 for the basic package.
Although Lucid is a relatively new high-stakes player in the electric vehicle scene, it beat other well-known companies like Porche, Honda, Mercedes-Benz and more. In the end, the Air’s “excellent driving dynamics, sumptuous ride, striking and well-packaged interior, and spirit of innovation” pushed the vehicle over the top, MotorTrend stated.

Rivian R1T
The first electric pickup truck on the market, it’s not surprising the Rivian R1T was named MotorTrend Truck of the Year. Rivian reinvented how the pickup could and should be built to balance innovative design and traditional sensibilities. The truck has a skateboard-type design but still stays true to the traditional look of a truck. It incorporates EV components like front and rear light bars as well as a modern, minimalistic aesthetic.
MotorTrend touted the way Rivian integrated the trailer brake controller in the screens and steering wheel buttons. The R1T packages a portable Bluetooth speaker and lantern into the vehicle compactly and has a good amount of cargo space. The company also cleverly engineered the vehicle to open new design opportunities and more storage solutions. Consumers are going to love the way the truck handles on and off roads, its energy efficiency, and the 314-mile range they get with the 135-kWh battery. The R1T price starts at $74,075.

High Anticipated EVs of 2022
Having the Car and Truck of the Year both be EVs is a sign of the times. EVs are here to stay, and we can expect to see these vehicles quickly take over the industry. Some of the most anticipated EVs of 2022 include the following according to InsideEVs:
- Ford F-150 Lightning
- IONIQ 5
- Kia EV6
- Nissan Ariya
