JVIS Employees Give Time, Effort to Community Causes

The JVIS team is a culture of giving back to the community.

That’s a value important to the people who work at JVIS who are committed to giving back to communities. It’s a value that is shared and encouraged by JVIS, who believes in fostering a culture of corporate social responsibility across their organization.

The hardworking and innovative people who envision, design and manufacture products for JVIS customers are very generous in committing time, labor and resources to community involvement that improves the quality of life for others in their communities.

Just a few of the causes JVIS employees recently participated in include:

  • Operation Good Cheer: JVIS employees sponsored over 50 children in foster care this holiday season. This entirely volunteer Christmas gift-giving program is sponsored and coordinated by Child and Family Services of Michigan Inc.
  • Gleaners Community Food Bank: JVIS participated in the Gleaners Food Drive for Vets Returning Home , which occurred in November. This program provides food and more to veterans struggling with access to important resources.
  • JVIS employees raised more than $13,000 for the American Cancer Society in October by participating in the Making Strides 5K walk/run in Mount Clemens.

“We appreciate our employees for being so involved in giving back to our communities,” said JVIS Director of Human Resources Jane Grewe. “At JVIS, our employees take part in many outreach programs and take pride in their community involvement. From having a role in a supply drive, fundraising effort or taking part in the sponsorships of golf outings and charity auctions, our people are very active in supporting community partnerships and national causes.”

Grewe said corporate social responsibility is a core value, and this helps pave the way for their employees to pitch in and better the community by providing community service time that can be used in volunteer and fundraising efforts

“Volunteering for a variety of causes is an important aspect of being a good neighbor and responsible company,” Grewe said. “We not only encourage people to take a role in philanthropy, we give them more opportunities by building in community service hours they can use to work for organizations they are passionate about and take part in their volunteer and fundraising activities during the work week.”

Another vital component of JVIS community partnership activities focuses on supporting the education community. JVIS sponsors robotics programs, field days, and many academic and sports programs within various communities.

By supporting youth, JVIS is providing access for the next generation of designers, engineers and manufacturing workers to test drive possible careers before graduating high school. JVIS also works to continue creating opportunities for those passionate about design and manufacturing to get their foot in the door by creating programs focused on providing supplemental collegiate experiences.

“JVIS supports a variety of student programs in local high schools and offers internships to high school and college students so they can gain experience and make a life decision about a career,” Grewe explained.

The community involvement demonstrates the good work of the great people who make up the JVIS team.

JVIS believes community partnerships are not just about talking the talk. We’re proud of our employees’ community involvement because they are walking the JVIS walk. Together, across the globe, we are showing the world that WE ARE JVIS
